As a general objective, the course intends to familiarize the students, at an introductory level, with the main issues and approaches in the field of gender studies, with a special emphasis on feminist contributions to the field. On the other hand, the course will challenge students' common sense stereotypes and traditional thinking about issues as “natural” as gender or body, and also open up a whole new set of approaches and lines of research, that would enable students to develop a more comprehensive and nuanced view on reality, using the tools and concepts of an interdisciplinary approach.

Active presence (online :) and discussions, based on the assigned readings, are strongly encouraged. Also, students will be required to engage in small projects on assigned topics.
